LSP Guidelines Manual
These guidelines are produced by the Irish Sports Council as a resource for the Local Sports Partnerships to support many of the key aspects of their work and to strengthen the impact of their activities at local level.
Building on the experience and learning of the first pilot phase of the Local Sports Partnership initiative, we are now in a position to document these guidelines focusing on sustaining and further developing this very successful and exciting initiative.
These are guidelines for best practice and not rules. It is hoped that any Partnership using this will find the material informative and helpful, in guiding them through the sometimes complex aspects of creating, managing, maintaining and developing a Partnership.
Effective Partnership does not have a start and/or finish point but should be viewed as ongoing or cyclical in terms of delivering our key objective, "Increased participation in sport & physical activity". As many of our Partnership projects are at varying levels of development and operation, the material is structured in such a way that it can be a very useful resource for whatever stage your Partnership is at currently.
In parallel to the development of this resource the Irish Sports Council is committed to providing ongoing support and training to the Partnerships in terms of a structured training and communications plan.
