The Irish Sports Council is delighted to be working in association with RTE's Operation Transformation Programme for the third year running in 2013. The annual Nationwide Walking Events will take place on Saturday the 19th of January, and are run by the Local Sports Partnership; in conjunction with Operation Transformation. Over 15,000 people took part in the national walks in 2012 which are a great way of promoting walking as a fun way to get and stay active.
The Operation Transformation 5k Fun Run will also take place this year on Saturday the 23rd of February, in conjunction with the Irish Sports Council, Dublin City Sports Network, and Athletics Association of Ireland. These events are a great way of getting people active and kick-starting a healthier life.
